Cat Care
No matter how much independent and litter-trained your cat may be, he still counts on you for his food, shelter, water, companionship and lots of other things. The most important thing that the cat needs is a collar with an id tag with your name, address and telephone number. The purpose of this is so that the cat may be returned to you in case of it getting lost.
If you are a cat owner, it is very important that you follow the local cat registration laws. It is through licensing, registration and the identification system that the cat and you are protected in the community! No matter how well trained your cat may be, it is always better to keep it indoors, as you may never know what is lurking out there to harm the cat!
It is very important to take the cat to the veterinarian for regular checkups to maintain the health and care of the cat. In case you know no veterinarian for cat care, you can always ask the local animal shelter or a pet-loving friend for a referral. It is always better to spay or neuter your cat to keep her healthier and to reduce the problem of cat overpopulation!
Your cat has to be groomed to keep her coat healthy, soft and shiny. Although the cat may groom itself, it may ingest lots of hair that leads to hairballs! Try to set aside some time to play with your cat. Though cats don’t need as much exercise as dogs do, regular playing with it will provide it physical exercise and mental stimulation he requires. Cats are animals that can be trained if you have lots of patience, effort and understanding on your part. You can easily train cats from scratching furniture and from jumping off countertops.
