How to get skunk smell from your cat

If you have a cat that goes outdoors all the time, chances are they are going to get sprayed at some point.  This will help you to remove the smell from your cat. Remember to make certain that you are well guarded against all scratching and biting.   This isn’t going to be a fun process. The cat is going to stink to high heaven, it won’t like being washed, and will probably end up needing a shower yourself when you are finished, but at least your cat won’t smell like skunk anymore.

a. Mix four cups of hydrogen peroxide with four tablespoons baking soda and one teaspoon dish washing liqiud.

b. To make sure you pet’s ears are protected from the mixture, put cotton balls in them.

c. Put rubber gloves on before you start.

d.  Start up at your cat’s head, but don’t get any in her ears, mouth or eyes. Use baby or olive oil on her eyes like you did when giving her a bath.

e.  If you can do it outdoors, that’s the best way to go, but you want to rub it into her coat so that its evenly spread throughout.

f.  Use clean water to rinse her coat.

g.  If there is still a smell, do it again.

Once again, after the bath is finished, take time to praise the cat and give them a treat.  It will be a harrowing experience for the two of you and you both will need a break after it is done.
