The right doctor for your cat
When you take your cat to the vet you are full of anguish and fear, what if the doctor tells you something that you are not that much eager to know? What if there is actually something that is wrong?
The normal way to interact as a cat owner is to assume that the doctor knows everything and anything that is there left to be known about cats. After all, that is why you are trusting him with what could be considered your best buddy; but still, veterinarians as humans and as such, there are times and places when they cannot actually know it all.
Your cat has no other voice but yours and he or she relies on you to fight for him or her and to be wise and strong enough to say “enough” when the time comes. Of course, this is not an easy task and those who have gone through that terrible road will concur with me. But leaving the sad things aside, you need to make sure that whatever is going to be determined for your precious kitten in the doctor’s office is in his or her best interest.
Naturally, no one is saying that the doctor has a hidden agenda that is to exterminate all the kittens in the world but sometimes, despite the best efforts of the doctor to be up to date with what new discoveries are related to, he is lacking time or money and he is left out of the loop.
Make sure that your veterinarian is aware of the latest advances and other technological discoveries and road breaks that in terms of cat care occur. If you are doubtful that your veterinarian might be up to date, you might be able to provide him or her with a cheat sheet. Still if he or she seems to lack interest, then it might be advisable to change veterinarian altoghether.
