Cat Training

Cat training is something that has to be learnt and perfected by keeping an eye on the cat and it’s mannerisms. There is no need of yelling and screaming at the cat for it’s bad behavior. In fact, the best way of correcting any bad behavior of the cat is just to eliminate the factor that is motivating or initiating the bad behavior. If the cat seems to be fascinated with some item, it is better to hide it for a few weeks. If you find the cat to be curious about something, it is better for you to explore with him to control his reactions. The best thing to do to the cat that continues to misbehave is to use a specific loud noise.

Your cat may be trained to use the pet door; but at times, it still cries to be let out or in. the actual reason for this crying is for attention, and not to be let out or in! The best way to find out why he’s crying is to open the door when it cries. After opening it, if it does not go out, then you have to pick it up and pour some affection to it!

Some people use a full body harness when taking a cat for a walk. Some training has to be done to make the cat get used to the full body harness; you have to first play with the cat with the harness so that the cat gets to feel comfortable with the harness. Then you can slowly introduce the harness and the leash, till the cat gets comfortable with the leash and harness. Make it a point to reward the cat with the progress it makes with the harness.
