How to toilet train your cat
If you want to try and toilet train your cat, you can do it by following these easy steps.
a. Start out by putting your cat’s litter pan into the bathroom. It doesn’t have to be right next to the toilet, but once your cat gets used to the fact that its in the bathroom, edge it closer to the toilet over the course of a few days.
b. To get your cat used to jumping up to go to the bathroom, put the box up on a sturdy table next to the toilet. While this goes on for a few days, put the toilet lid up and the seat down.
c. So that your cat is interested in things, put some catnip on the table and the toilet seat. That will attract her attention.
d. After you empty the tank and turn off the shut off valve, there shouldn’t be any water in the toilet bowl. Get a plastic bowl that is big enough to put into the toilet without rocking back and forth, and fill it with clean cat litter. You want to make certain there is no water in the toilet bowl especially if your cat hates water. Make certain it’s set up so that the cat has its front paws on the seat when its using the bowl. Make sure that the bowl is cleaned at least two times a day.
e. If your cat is taking things in stride, remove the litter over a period of days and when you think that it’s a good time remove the bowl too. If everything goes right, your cat will be standing on her new ‘litter’ box and using it regularly.
f. Make certain that you flush the toilet regularly so that it doesn’t smell.
g. If you weren’t able to do this on your own, you can try the commercial products that are available to use to toilet train your cat as well.
