Well, I am the proud owner of many animals, 2 American bulldogs an a ferrel Momma cat with her now 1 year old 3 kittens. Recently we lost the middle child, she was named Noonie Dos after her Mom, and we ended up nick naming her DoDo. Well she was the only kitten out of the three that picked up the ferrel behavior, although she was my gate keeper. She followed everywhere I went, dishes, laundry, with my hubby, and she also claimed the bed at my feet. Which no others were allowed to be on the bed. I am mourning her loss, it has only been days, and I still call for her. My others have been with me everywhere I go, and I also call for them to follow. I see their longing for her to return, and I believe they all know she was hurt very badly, I believe they saw her and stayed with her until she passed.
We were at my sons football game this past Saturday all day, so after she had passed in my neighbors yard, he froze her me. So I was able to say goodbye and see her sleeping the way she always did. I will miss her, she was a great cat. Thank you for the information that you provided it was very helpful being this is my first loss of a pet.

God Bless

This also applies to cat furniture. I have been disappointed with most cat furniture. It isnt well built sometimes, and might not fit into your decor. A few months ago one of our cats decided to jump on an antique sewing machine cabinet that I found in the dumpster 20 years earlier. She would love to sit on it for hours. The only thing is that it was a bit in need of repair, and not very comfortable to sit on. So, I decided to spruce it up, removing all the paint. I then repainted it with orange milk paint (which is no odor and zero VOX, making it green friendly.), and added some knobs that look like cat eyes. I then put a cat bed on top, and she now loves it. So, the moral of the story is, if your cat uses certain pieces of furniture, refurbish it for kitty. They will be happy, and it will be a great conversation piece too.

Interesting article. We lost our beloved April on Oct. 7, 2008. Since that time one of our cats Beanie decided to emulate much of April's mannerisms. She'd sleep on her side of the bed, looking out the door toward the dining room. It also was interesting that Beanie refused to touch April's blanket that she was wrapped in at the animal hospital. I first thought that it might have been because she tolerated April, but didnt like her as a close cat buddy. Perhaps another reason is because she could smell the chemicals on the blanket, as well as know that it was April's blanket she had on when she died. So, perhaps she does miss April after all.

It's easy to forget sometimes that cats, even though they're very independent, are also very dependent on their connection with the humans around them, and can be easily stressed out by things that we wouldn't usually consider as having an effect on them. Linda Mohr, the author of Tatianna: Tales and Teachings of My Feline Friend says that it's a good idea to create a safe sanctuary for your cat so that they know they have a place to go and hide when they need to de-stress.

Yes I totally agree on this post. Cats are definitely not like dogs. You cannot punish them but instead you need to use rewards to your advantage. I suppose anyone likes treats, especially my cat who loves them.
